Keane is close on signing a two-year extension to the two years he currently has left on his contract at Sunderland.
The new deal is believed to put him alongside Sir Alex Ferguson on a £3 million-a-year salary, says the Daily Mail.
It is also believed that Sunderland owners Drumaville Group could hand Keane up to 10 per cent of the club.
