Tevez told the Sun: “I am really happy Diego has been named coach of the national side.
“It will be different. I will be able to say that Diego coached me in the national team.
“But it’s really tough coaching Argentina — we are all stars at our clubs and we don’t all think the same way.
“If all the players give everything on the pitch it will be hard to beat us because giving 100 per cent and winning go hand in hand. But Diego is going to have to leave his heart to one side and use his head.
“We know that he’ll get more grey hairs from coaching this team.”
Tevez added on Argentina teammate Lionel Messi: “Messi cannot be the team captain. Diego has to respect those players that are in the side already.
“He can’t come in and change everything. You cannot put all the responsibility on one player — Leo will explode.
“They have to take the pressure off Leo, he has to enjoy himself more when he plays for the national team.”
