Modric told The Sun: “Slaven is a phenomenal human being. A great man and great person first, then a winning manager.
“He calls us, we call him. We talk about everything on our mind.
“We’ve been with him since the under-21 team and are all ready to do anything for him in order to win for Croatia.
“I wouldn’t like him to leave Croatia but Slaven will decide.
“He said he will stay until the World Cup, after who knows? But everyone would like him to stay.”
