Karim Benzema’s move from Lyon to Real Madrid have opened up the chance for a return to the French Ligue 1 for Trezeguet.
“Before Benzema left [Lyon for Real Madrid] everything was at a standstill,” Caliendo told Goal.com.
“However, now it could happen that Trezeguet joins Lyon. The French side is not the only club interested in him though as Atletico Madrid is also a possibility.
“Benzema’s departure has created space, but we have to wait and see what happens.”
