Manchester United have reportedly joined the race to sign Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia this summer.

The Daily Mail reports that Liverpool are preparing an improved offer for the £50million-rated Belgium midfielder and have established themselves as the favourites to sign the youngster.

Lavia is expected to leave the Saints this summer, following their relegation to the Championship last season and Liverpool are desperate to strengthen their midfield for the coming season.

But now the Daily Mail reports that Liverpool and Chelsea face competition for Lavia, as both Manchester United and an unnamed Saudi Arabian club have joined the chase.
