Vertonghen has long been linked with a move to White Hart Lane, but the potential switch has stalled over a disagreement between the defender and his current club Ajax.
Nakhli Mondial, a member of Vertonghen’s management agency, told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf: “We have a meeting with Ajax at the end of this morning to come to a solution.
“There is some movement and we have the intention to come to an agreement.”
