The former Rosenborg and Sogndal star is set to travel to France to undergo a medical at Metz.
Odegaard has agreed to a two-and-a-half-year contract with the French side.
He told Aftenbladet: “For me, this is an adventure. I have long dreamed of getting a chance abroad.”
Odegaard is expected to join the French side on a free transfer.
