Villa’s Berger: I could join MLS

He said: “There is a possibility of me going to America. I know there is an interest but I can’t say anything at the moment because nothing is finalised.

“My deal at Villa is up in the summer and I just need to be fit and available every weekend for the manager and then we’ll see what happens.

“There’s no pressure but I don’t want to quit the game. I want to carry on. For the first time in two years, I haven’t been injured now for quite a long time so if I have the opportunity, I’d like to carry on.

“As for where, I don’t know and I’m not really thinking about it at the moment. Right now, I don’t want to think about anything else.

“I still have my deal here and I’m prepared to help Villa finish as high as we can in the table. I will see what the manager has on the table for me at the end of the season.

“Then I will sit down with the family and do what’s best for them and make my decision.”
