Welbeck want Man Utd stay

The 17-years-old scored a stunning goal in his Premier League debut in the 5-0 win over Stoke on Saturday.

He said: “There’s nothing better than training with the first team. I’d rather be doing that every day than be out on loan somewhere else.”

He added on his goal against Stoke: “I got the ball on the edge of the centrecircle, played a one-two with Manucho, took a touch and just thought ‘I’m going to hit it’,” he said.

“I was relieved to see it hit the back of the net. But I’m not going to lie – I’ve seen replays of it a few times already.”
