West Ham chairman Eggy: We want Reo-Coker stay

The Icelander told the People: “People at this club want Nigel to stay.

“He has an important role to play at this club and he could be an important part of our future.

“His absence yesterday was not a sign of anyone wanting him out of the club, the manager simply wanted to have a look at other players and this match presented him with that opportunity.

“We appreciate the support from West Ham fans in what has been a difficult period. We need that support to continue for the whole team and also for the captain.”
