Wigan boss backs N’Zogbia for France World Cup call

Martinez believes France boss Raymond Domenech should award N’Zogbia for his strong performances for Wigan this season.

Martinez said: “It is difficult for him because I have seen it myself when you leave France or Spain in a way you are out of sight. But the way he has been performing this season he will definitely get the attention of France.

“He is still a young man, he still has another level to get to. He is an old fashioned dribbler. You don’t get many like him, unfortunately.

“He is an out and out winger playing out wide. He has that street mentality, he wants the ball and he wants to go past people and he is one of them you would pay money to watch.

“We have raw talented players which excites me and to come to Sunderland and cope with their very direct approach and get a point shows we have a very good platform to carry on improving.”
