Harry Ashfield could be heading for a late Wrexham exit as Wigan Athletic, Doncaster Rovers and Salford City compete for the midfielder.
The 20-year-old faces a difficult route into Phil Parkinson’s crowded senior squad.
Football League World reports that all three clubs are pushing to recruit Ashfield before the deadline. Wrexham may consider either a permanent transfer or another loan, with the final outcome expected to depend on the offers submitted.
The Wales Under-21 international enhanced his reputation during a productive spell at Cheltenham Town last season.
He scored twice in 17 appearances, including an equaliser against Salford and the opener in a convincing win at Walsall.
Ashfield, a product of Wrexham’s academy, has also recorded two goals across nine senior outings for his boyhood club. Regular football now appears crucial for the next stage of his development.
With three clubs circling, Wrexham must soon decide whether to retain control through a loan or sanction a permanent departure.
