Magath feels that his side’s win was fully deserved. Wolfsburg went a goal behind, but a brace by Mario Mandzukic secured all three points for the club.
“The win may have been slightly fortunate in the end, but by no means undeserved,” Magath told to the club’s official website.
“At the beginning Schalke were the better team. It was clear to see that the opponents’ self-confidence was high having gone into the game on the back of three wins.
“Eventually, though, we worked our way back into the game and we gave more than our opponents.”
