The 31-year-old has been struggling with injuries in recent years and his current deal with Spurs expires in the summer.
“Hopefully he will get a deal,” said Redknapp. “I want him to come back fit. He’s a great player.
“I’d love to see him get his career back on track because when I came here two years ago he was one of the first names on the sheet, a different class.
“He’s one of the best centre-halves around.”
