The 28-year-old’s current contract is set to expire in June 2010.
“I’m sure we’ll reach an agreement because it’s what both parties want,” he told the club website, www.fcbarcelona.cat.
He continued: “I’ve always said I want to carry on playing here. My dream is to retire at Barca.
“I’ve always felt very calm here and highly valued by the club. At no point have they ever said they were thinking of selling me.”
