Yakubu has been out of action sine rapturing his Achilles in November.
“I am doing well at the moment, hopefully I will be back soon,” he told Sky Sports News.
“I will visit a specialist in France to look at the problem, but I am hopeful to be fine very soon.
“It is sad I can’t help the team, they are doing very well, and we have got a slight chance to be in the Champions League but to finish in the top five will be very good for us.
“Hopefully the final phase of my rehabilitation will be good, and next season we will fight for a top four finish.”
