Iain Dowie who replaced Alan Curbishley at The Valley in the summer, admits that he feels the pressure, after the club have lost five out of six matches in the Premiership so far.
Dowie told Sky Sports: “I’d rather that the pressure be on me rather than the players. The players are responding excellently to what we want to achieve.
“Clearly when you don’t get the results you come under pressure, that’s it, I’m not dressing it any other way. If it had been five wins it would be totally different, but it’s not. We’ve got to deal with that, that’s what the job is about.
“The fans have been very, very supportive but the Charlton fans want to see results. Whatever will be will be, as long as they understand the players are very much behind what’s going on – that’s the key.”
