Zanzi rues Ramirez departure

Roberto Zanzi, the director general of Bologna, has said that his team’s failure to hold onto Gaston Ramirez is a reflection of the state of Italian football.

Bologna sold the Uruguayan to newly promoted Premier League side Southampton.

“Surely this transfer could have occurred more smoothly,” Zanzi told Radio Les.

“But that on which it is also necessary to reflect is that our system can no longer afford these talents.

“We need to look for solutions to solve this crisis in our football. We look at what is happening to big clubs like Inter and Milan.”
