The Spanish side are keen to fend off mounting interest in the Spain international from clubs across Europe.
“Negotiations are very advanced now and we expect an offer on the table very soon,” Mata’s father and agent Juan Manuel told Punto Radio.
“If everything is acceptable for both parties, we will sign.”
