The former Manchester United hitman has been struggling with injuries in recent months.
Nistelrooy returned to action against Alcorcon on Tuesday in the Copa del Rey after damaging his thigh in September following a long-term injury.
“The body responded and that gives me hope that I can go back to being what I was before,” he told Marca. “I believe I can improve and get better.”
