Tevez has been a hit at City since joining the club from rivals Manchester United in the summer.
“I don’t know the whole story,” said Mancini of Tevez’s move from United to city.
“But when I was in Italy and watched him on TV I thought Carlos was a good player.
“I wanted him to come to Inter. I asked about him. But of course, there was no chance because he was at United.
“To score three goals, three very good goals, for us is very special but everyone knows how good he is.”
