United crashed out of the Champions League following their 2-1 defeat to Basel on Wednesday.
Sommer said: “It’s crazy – we beat Manchester United at home.
“We are a Swiss team from a little country and we have beaten one of the biggest teams in the world.
“We believe in ourselves and we played a good game.”
