Welbeck is confident that his side will bounce back by beating Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday.
“We’re really disappointed to be out of the Champions League – Manchester United are expected to qualify and we haven’t. We all know that and we know we need to put things right,” he told the club’s official website.
“Our aim is always to win every single game. Unfortunately on Wednesday it didn’t happen, but we’ll be raring to go on Saturday and we’ve got the right mentality to come through this.
“You have to turn the situation into a positive. It’s tough but we don’t want to dwell on it. We have to move forward and the best way to do that is to learn from it and try and get better as a team.
“We trained well on Friday and everyone is looking forward to getting out there against Wolves.”
