Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has claimed that the former Arsenal striker wanted a move to United or Chelsea right until he joined City.
The 25-year-old said: “There was interest from other clubs but I don’t want to dwell on that now.
“I came here to win trophies. Yes it’s true they offered me a very fine contract and I’ve signed it.
“I will fight for this club and help us win trophies.”
