Dutch forward Robin van Persie hit a hat-trick and also missed a penalty in the game against Wigan.
Manchester United are currently two points ahead of Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table.
He told Sky Sports: “We know we now have eight home games and it’s important to win the home games – then we have a good chance (of title fight).
“We are up for it. We are hungry, we want to do well, we play well so it will be interesting.”
He added on the game itself: “It was 1-0 at half-time when it could have been five or six. But overall I was very happy with our performance.
“We looked like we’re going from strength to strength. We needed to be patient and in the end it was a convincing performance with maybe a less convincing performance than it could have been.
“Some players were frustrated because they felt they could have scored but what is most important is the team performance and that was great.”
