Carew said: “The Hulk thing is new but I’ve been this size since I was 19! I’ve seen the cartoon and I thought it was funny when Iversen came up with it in August.
“I’m a strong player and the physical side of the game is important and that’s why I am looking forward to playing in the Premiership.
“I don’t know whether my game is made for it but I want to have some fun finding out. That is what football is about. It is something beautiful, something competitive and you can’t do it if it is no fun.”
Carew added: “I’ve had a few muscle strains this season and I am not 100 per cent back to full fitness so need to get some good training in at Villa.
“It has been a rush. I went back to France to collect my things. Usually I am forgetful but I had some friends come down from Norway and they made sure I brought my boots!
“My nature is that I settle easily and I am really looking forward to playing for Aston Villa. The ambience here is warm although the weather is something else!
“It will take a little bit of time to get used to a new system and to the Premiership so I will not be able to judge after one or two matches. But I have signed a three-and-a-half-year contract.”
