Swansea and City are yet to agree on a fee for the player who has been dubbed the ‘new Ryan Giggs’.
A Swansea official told People.co.uk: “We would ideally like the player to come back to us but that’s not going to happen. However, there will have to be proper compensation.”
The 15-year-old will not be able to sign a professional deal until he is 16.
A City official added: “The compensation procedure is something that is standard when two clubs cannot agree a fee.”
