Stubbs told evertonTV: “The way I look at it, headlines are not for me; results are for me. We are winning and I am absolutely chuffed to bits and I would rather let the other, younger players get the headlines.
“I have had headlines in the past and now I am at a stage in my career when all I am interested in is playing well and getting results.”
He added: “I still feel as if I can do it and I wouldn’t be in the team if I couldn’t, it’s as simple as that.
“It is satisfying to know you have done well, but it is even more satisfying when you go home and your little lad and little girl say ‘Dad, you were man of the match today’. That is the most satisfaction I get.”
