Ferdinand refuses to get carried away

Capello has won all of their first four World Cup qualifiers.

Ferdinand said: “We’ve seen that before.

“With every single manager we’ve had since I’ve been an England player we’ve had a good start.

“Everyone says how we’re going to be brilliant and we’re going to do this and you can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

“Then, six months down the line, everyone’s calling for the manager’s head and the players aren’t good enough.

“I take each game as it comes and that’s the best way to do it.

“The difference with this man is he has been a winner from day one as a player and as a manager.

“He says ‘This is the way I like football being played and I’ve been successful doing this, so this is the way I want you guys to play and if you can’t do it then I’ll find someone else who can’.”
