Fergie hits out at UEFA

Fergie has warned UEFA boss Michel Platini that if he moves to control football’s finances, no English teams will compete in the Champions League.

Platini wants to stop teams with large debts from playing in European competitions.

He told the Sunday Mirror: “There’s probably always been a little bit of an anti-English agenda at UEFA.

“It’s interesting that Platini is now talking about levels of debt. That means no English teams will be in the Champions League.

“I mean, how will teams be able to even build new stadia? They go into debt because there’s no other way to do it.

“Look at Arsenal. They had to take on a lot of debt to build their new stadium.”
