There has been speculation over when Fergie will retire in recent seasons, but the United boss has refused to set a date.
“His health is fine and he’s building a new team,” declared Darren Ferguson.
“If they win this year, then they catch Liverpool in terms of league titles won. That will be in his mind.
“I can see him doing this year and next – and then that might be it for him.
“I don’t think Dad will wait for me before he retires – there’s no guarantee I’ll get to The Premier League.
“But, as a club, we do have a plan to get there. We are ambitious.”
