Hughes was confirmed as the new manager at Fulham earlier this week.
“Everyone’s delighted,” Kelly told Sky Sports News of Hughes’ appointment.
“He’s a big manager with a great reputation so everyone’s looking forward to working with him.
“Hopefully he’ll move the club in the right direction.
“We’re a passing team. He’s got a similar style in what he’s done at other clubs as well.
“He likes to play football which is very similar to here, so everyone is very excited about working with him.
“He’s proved himself at other clubs. Hopefully we can come here and continue that form that he’s shown with the other teams.”
