Henry: Football should become more like rugby

Henry said: “I would like the game to become a bit more like rugby, because in football you cannot speak to the referee.

“If you try, they won’t even give you an answer.

“You don’t want to have a go at them — but just ask them what they saw at crucial times in the game but you’re not allowed to do that.

“People say that footballers should be more like rugby players and accept every decision by the officials.

“But they can talk with the referee. We can’t do that.

“Some decisions in a match don’t really matter but this one on Tuesday had a real effect on the result. If anyone sees me handle the ball on the replay they should come and tell me because I know I didn’t.

“At first I thought he had disallowed the goal for offside.

“But to say I handled it and then give me a yellow card was wrong and difficult to accept.”
