Liverani backs Palermo to qualify for Champions League

Palermo managed to beat Juventus 2-0 at the weekend.

“We knew that it was going to be a very difficult encounter, but the team had the will to do well, especially after losing our last two away matches,” Liverani told TMW.

“It was also a direct battle with a side that is aiming do well.

“I saw a Juventus side that seemed tired after playing in the Europa League, but I also think that they haven’t overcome all their issues. We knew that the match was going to be difficult, but we had to do our best to win.

“I always knew that we could do well because we have a very strong team – at least in the top four. All that we lacked in previous campaigns was the extra hard work and determination, which we have found this season.

“If a team at the top fails another one can enter and do well. We will have to fight off Genoa, Napoli, Fiorentina and Sampdoria for that spot,” Liverani concluded.
