The 30-year-old joined Liverpool on a free transfer last summer, but has failed to make an impact at Anfield.
Jovanvoic has recently been strongly linked with a move to Greek side Olympiakos.
“I got the paper from Liverpool that I am free to search for a new club,” Jovanovic told the Greek media.
“Up to now, I still haven’t received an official offer from Olympiakos, but I am looking forward to hearing their plans.”
