Drogba scored the only goal of the FA Cup final on Saturday with a super finish in extra-time.
Fergie said: “I had a feeling it might be that type of game. Chelsea are not the type of side to go gung-ho at anyone. They make sure they don’t lose first of all.
“But Drogba took his goal very well and, to be honest with you, I think he kept Chelsea’s season alive.
“He kept producing goals at important moments in games.”
