Hargreaves told The Sun: “Every player would love the opportunity to come and play for Manchester United and I am sure Carlos is exactly the same.
“Sometimes, these things are difficult.
“We are all aware Carlos is a fantastic player who is obviously wanted by the club, but it is tough to say what the situation is at the moment.
“However, once it is sorted out, I am sure he will be eager to come here.
“Once Manchester United are interested in you, it is very difficult to say no.”
