Rooney limped off White Hart Lane after 64 minutes, in Manchester United’s 4-0 win over Tottenham today.
Manager Sir Alex Ferguson said after the game: “Rooney got injured in a challenge and was limping around a bit so we decided to take him off.
“We will assess him on Monday morning but he may be doubtful for the England game on Wednesday.”
