Hazard made the surprise announcement, turning his back on three teams who finished above Chelsea in the league last season.
“It is good for him. I was a little aware [of his choice]”, Mavuba told RMC.
“He deserves to go to a big club. Chelsea are the latest winners of the Champions League. They need to rejuvenate their squad. And they have not been misled by signing Eden.
“He had many opportunities with three top clubs. He changed his mind a lot in his head. But he chose Chelsea and he had good reason to do so.”
