Raul just recently became Real’s all-time top goal-scorer.
He told The Associated Press: “It is a difficult situation because you always want to go out when you are at the top. But when you are doing so well you have to ask, ‘Why am I going now?’
“At this time I have marked 2011 as the date [I will retire].”
He added: “Six months before that date [June 2011] – in December or January – will be the time to look at the situation and to see what is beneficial for the club and for me.”
