He said: “The only time he has ranted was Plymouth away after we’d been absolutely rotten. He smashed a white board across the room and that made us all sit up and think we must have been really shocking.
“He’s got a sharp brain. If someone rants and raves at you it’s easy to turn off. If someone sits you down and puts your shortcomings to you in a calm and collected way, you listen.”
