Redknapp happy with squad

Redknapp believes his squad is in a stronger state now ahead of their clash with Manchester United on Saturday.

Redknapp told the club’s official website: “I never felt that we needed to make a lot of changes this summer because we already had a lot of quality within our squad.

“Sometimes I think that you can have too many players and it does nothing but give you problems. The squad is stronger, I think we have bought well and it is a well-balanced squad now in all parts of the field.

“We are looking to get some of our longer-term injured players back now like Michael Dawson, Gareth Bale, Jonathan Woodgate and Jermaine Jenas.

“They should all be coming back to fitness pretty soon and when they do return it will make the squad even stronger.

“We did make enquiries about one or two players and there were one or two deals that were put to us.

“In terms of the players we were interested in bringing to the club, the ones that we followed up our interest in, we ended up signing.

“We didn’t miss out on anybody.”
