Redknapp philosophical about Nani goal

At 1-0, Nani appeared to handle the ball clearly following a tussle with Younes Kaboul in the Tottenham area, before Heurelho Gomes took the ball and placed it to take a goal kick.

Nani then kicked the ball into the net amid confusing scenes, with the goal allowed to stand, and Redknapp still believes it was an incorrect call.

“There was no whistle but everyone saw him handle it,” said Redknapp. It’s a free-kick but he hasn’t given anything. I’ve always thought that Mark Clattenburg was a good referee – and he is a good referee – but he made a mess of the situation. We were losing 1-0 so I’m not looking for excuses. I’m just talking about one incident.”
