Rooney said: “He’s probably the driving force at Liverpool and he is one of the best midfielders in the world.
“I think if Liverpool lost him, they wouldn’t be half the team they are with him.
“I can’t really describe him because there isn’t another player like him.
“I’d love to see him come to United but I don’t think that will ever happen!”
