Imanol Agirretxe fired the Basques into an early lead, before Sociedad were pegged back. Agirretxe put them ahead again only for Sociedad to concede a second equaliser.
The result leaves them level on points with Valencia, just ahead of the side from the Mestalla on their head to head record.
