Torres turns down fresh approach from Man Utd

There have been reports in recent months that Manchester United are prepared to discuss a deal worth £20 million for the Spaniard.

The Spain international striker is also wanted by Liverpool and Chelsea.

Torres said yesterday: “I will never leave. There have been seasons in which things have not gone well and you wish the holidays would come so you can forget everything, but I want to stay here.

“The important thing is that you’re happy and you feel you can win trophies. I believe that it is only a matter of time before Atletico will win trophies.

“By the time I am 28 I will be a Champions League veteran and I will have done it at Atletico. I do not want to leave.”
