Valencia chief Carboni slams Ayala

Carboni said: “We have a new philosophy. First comes the character of the man, then second whether he is a good player. Last summer many very ugly things happened and the club will not forget it. There were insults at a private level and we have a personal pride.

“We have a different version events compared to what Ayala believes.”

Carboni says he won’t stop Valencia coach Quique Sanchez Flores from fielding Ayala for the rest of this season.

“If Quique wants to play Ayala, or anyother player on the margins, then we won’t interfere. He has our full confidence.”
