He said: “My favourites for the title are Manchester United because they are at the top and have the advantage.
“But while United seem to be getting all the credit at the moment, people should also look at Chelsea and admit that in their way they have also been fantastic.
“I have a season ticket at Stamford Bridge and I watch them every week.
“What I really like about Jose’s team is that this year they have shown great character when things aren’t going well.
“They have won the Carling Cup and can still win another three trophies.
“Read the papers and watch the TV and it seems Chelsea are having a crisis – but they have fantastic character.
“Every time they go down they fight back and that, for me, is one of their greatest qualities.
“You have to say those boys really do have the balls.”
