Villa suffered a muscle tear in his right leg in Valencia’s 1-0 win over Racing Santander on Sunday.
Valencia confirmed on their official website that the injury will keep Villa out of action for three weeks.
Villa looks also set to miss the key Primera Division game with champions Barcelona on October 18.
