The match ended in a 2-2 draw and Giuseppe Rossi and Guille Franco scored the goals for Pellegrini’s side.
“We are very close to qualifying now, although it is not assured, but if we continue to play at that level then we will go through to the next round,” he told Spanish newspaper Marca.
“The draw is neither good nor bad. We went out with the intention to try and qualify her, although we did depend on Manchester United, although we knew it would be tough to do that with two games still to play.
“Now we need a point and we hope that we can earn that in the next game when we play Manchester United.
“It is not easy to win away against any team because of the pressiure and the level of the opposition on their own pitch.”
